The still FACTORY ORIGINAL (non-refurbished) dial is in PERFECT condition. The crystal is in immaculate, scratch-free, condition. The case has slight signs of wear but retains much of the original case material and finishing, and fullness and beveling of the lugs. Please consider the pictures as well as the age of the watch.
Please note that the dial is a genuine IWC factory service replacement.
Last service in 2019. The watch movement runs perfectly and all functions work perfectly as well.
Before the Ingenieur was given its redesign at the pen of legendary designer Gerald Genta, the model was a rather modest-looking watch - three hands (sometimes with a date window), luminous paint at the indices. However, this watch was a pioneer and behind the elegant simplicity of the dial lay concealed a single purpose: displaying time accurately without being affected by external factors. The watch's movement, designed by the legendary IWC Technical Director James Pellaton, was protected by a soft iron cage, affording resistance to magnetic fields of up to 80000 amperes per meter. This Ingenieur Ref. 666 has an IWC factory replacement black dial, everything else being factory original. The case shows slight signs of wear but is not overly refinished.
