    The “Steel Rolex” book is a prestigious limited edition realized in only 599 examples worldwide. With a big size book and a very exclusive content, this book represents a very rare collectable item.
    The authors of the books are Giorgia and Guido Mondani and the preface was written by Robert Maron, one of the world’s most important watch dealers.
    All Rolex watches in stainless steel are included in this special book. Particular attention for the limited editions, personalized dials, faded dials, military models, customized Rolexes, Panerai with Rolex movement, chronographs and Daytona, complicated watches.
    A SMALL TASTE OF STEEL ROLEX
    “Exceptionally rigorous manufacture the manufacturing process of 904l steel requires the greatest rigour. After a first casting, the metal is re-melted in a vacuum to purify it and eliminate any inclusions that would diminish its corrosion resistance and lead to problems in polishing. in its central laboratory, Rolex conducts strict in-house quality controls of each 904l steel casting it receives from suppliers using a scanning electron microscope that is capable of detecting even the slightest structural or surface defect. only the castings that meet the brand’s particular and exacting specifications are used for manufacturing the watches.
    SPECIFIC TOOLS DEVELOPED BY ROLEX
    Rolex masters in-house the entire manufacturing process for its 904l steel watch components.
    The physical characteristics and the toughness of 904l steel required perfecting speci c tooling and working methods to cut the rolled slabs, form them by stamping and to machine the components. thermal treatments facilitate forming the material. Very hard tools, some made of tungsten carbide with an anti-wear coating, were developed for stamping the steel. the last manufacturing step is the polishing that gives each component a nal polished or satin nish like no othe
