In 1957, Omega launched a series of three “Professional” watches – watches that were meant to be dedicated to a specific target group of individuals and professions: Seamaster (professional divers), Speedmaster (professional racecar drivers), and Railmaster (engineers). This specific watch exemplifies the "professional" pedigree of the Railmaster, as revealed by the inscription "PAF" for Pakistan Air Force on both caseback and movement. The military heritage of this watch makes it a special piece, but on top of that, this one is equipped with a soft iron inner caseback, a Faraday cage of sorts to deflect magnetic fields. This Railmaster is in outstanding condition, with full and symmetrical lugs and a mottled chocolate black dial that beautifully complements the burnt orange patina of the hands and indices.
